I Spy A Good Buy

The blog that sorts through the sale racks for you.

Welp, it’s July and in Milwaukee, that means temperatures have finally reached above 70 degrees.  With these balmy temperatures comes dress season.  I love dresses in the summer.  They’re light, they’re breezy, and they’re easy.  Throw on a dress, a pair of flip flops, and a few accessories, and you look super cute and stylish in a matter of minutes.  That’s my kind of fashion.

I suggest stocking up your dresses now, on this first day of July.  Since stores are getting ready to clear out summer clothes to make room for fall clothes (ridiculously early, as always), July and August are great times to invest.

Macy’s has Junior dresses on sale for amazing prices.  Seriously, brace yourself:

Original Price: $34.99, reduced to $6.99

Originally $39, now $5.99

clearance dresses

Originally $24.99, now $5.99

And there’s also some really cute skirts:

clearance skirts

Originally $19.99, now $5.99

Skirts, leggings, shorts, jeans, and other clothing are also on sale.  Unfortunately, you still have to pay for shipping (around $6), but when you’re getting dresses for $8, you can’t really complain!

I hope everyone has a great July 4th weekend!  I plan to spend mine at Summerfest, Milwaukee’s annual music festival thrown on the lakefront.  I also will be lounging on the beach in my special “Independence Day” bikini.  ;)

Happy deal hunting!

Hello, fellow deal spies!

I’m sorry it’s been a few days since I’ve written my last post.  I have been feverishly working on finishing the website for my web copywriting business, and I have finally done it!  Check it out, if you want, and feel free to leave feedback!  I can take constructive criticism:

www.webwritingservices.net

Now, onto the good stuff.  Levis.com is running a summer sale for up to 50% off.  However, if you do a little math, you’ll find that there are some items that are discounted 75% to 80% off (you should have seen me trying to figure out that percentage just now.  I do NOT excel at mathematics).

Also, if you sign up for the Levis newsletter, you’ll be sent a promotion code for free shipping.  It just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it?  Thank you, Pocket Your Dollars, for alerting me to this amazing deal!

Here are some examples of their sale bottoms.  These cute skinny jeans are $19.90, marked down from $79.50.  That’s insanity.

This little denim treat is $29.90, marked down from $59.50 (I could totally see myself wearing this to cookouts or outdoor events with a cute little tank):

sale skirt

And these darling capris are marked down to $14.90 from….wait for it…$78!!!  I just want to buy these on principle (…must….resist…)  And the good news is, Memorial Day weekend is upon us, which means you can wear white pants to your heart’s content (I know, the fashion gurus say that the “No white before Memorial Day/after Labor Day” rule no longer applies, but the saying always sticks in my mind).

sale capris

That’s all for now.  Sorry, this has to be short.  I have work to finish so I can enjoy the long, beautiful weekend ahead.  :)  I love summer and warm weather, don’t you?  Does anyone have exciting weekend plans they want to share?  My plans consist of a cookout, a trip to the beach (when I say beach, I mean the beach on Lake Michigan, not the ocean), and probably lots of yummy food and drinks (second to fashion, these are among my favorite things)!  :)

Everyone, enjoy your weekend!  Happy shopping (I bet there will be some great Memorial Day sales)!

Every good fashionista knows that style isn’t only about clothes.  It’s about your over all look:  your accessories, hair, and of course, your makeup.  A good bargain huntress also knows that makeup can be pricey…especially for something that you wash off every night.  I personally love finding quality makeup at an affordable price…as I’m sure everyone does.

Today, while sorting through my hundreds of junk email, I came upon an interesting one from E.L.F. Cosmetics.  E.L.F. stands appropriately for Eyes, Lips, Face (www.eyeslipsface.com), and they have TONS of great beauty deals and inexpensive makeup products.

If you are a fan of mineral makeup, they have a great selection of eyeshadows, blushes, powders, and lip products.  Using the coupon code ECTAPMZ , you can get all mineral makeup for 50% off.  For instance, the eyeshadow below is $1.50 with the 50% off promotion code.

dicount mineral makeup

Unfortunately, you have to spend a minimum of $20 to get the promotion, but after the 50% off, that’s only $10, which you’ll probably spend anyway.  Of course, I clicked on the wrong tab, but through my mistake I discovered that ALL of E.L.F.’s makeup is very reasonably priced.  The items below DO NOT qualify for the 50% code, but they are so cheap, it really doesn’t matter.

I was especially impressed by the compacts below, which are only $1 each.  They come empty, with magnetic little circles into which you can snap their matching eyeshadows, powders, and glosses (similar to STILA compacts)…

Make your own custom compact by choosing from a variety of eyeshadow colors, also $1 each.  Here are a few examples below:

Or choose lip glosses to go in the compact.  Here is one example, called Nude Blush:

So, visit www.eyeslipsface.com and explore the site…you’ll be amazed at the prices.

P.S.  In my About page, I state that one of the reasons I started this blog was so that I could get the “shopping experience” without actually buying things, therefore quenching my shopping cravings.  YEAH, that’s not working…  ;)

New York and Company is running a great deal right now:  Buy 1 pair of pants, crops, or shorts, and get a second pair for $10.  This includes jeans, dress pants, shorts, and capris.  Since bottoms in general tend to be on the more expensive side, this is a very exciting deal!  Like most BOGO deals, the higher price prevails, so the lower priced item of the two items will be the one that is marked $10.

For instance, I have fallen in love with these, which are $34.95…

discount shorts

And these, which are $44.95:

discount pants

Which means, I could get both the pants and the shorts for $55.  And of course, you could pick some lower priced shorts or capris instead of the pants, and get two great summer bottoms for under $40; maybe less.  This deal is also in the stores, so you can see them up close and personal and actually try them on.  If you do choose to order online, use the promotion code 2168 and get a flat rate shipping price of $6.

Please forgive me for the short post; I have somehow managed to catch a cold in the middle of May, and I have a hacking cough and stuffy head that is making me lose interest in all other activities.  You know it’s bad if I don’t even feel like talking about clothes.

Happy shopping, my little fashionistas!  :)

I love Express. They also have a great selection of cute clothes and accessories. However, it’s not often I actually go to Express because I’m far too lazy to venture to the mall. I prefer online shopping; that way, I never have to remove my lazy bum from my chair.

From time to time, Express has some really good sales online, especially at the end of the season. Right now is no exception; they have a variety of discounted shirts, skirts, dresses, pants, shoes, and accessories marked down over 50%.

Sales are always good, and this would be good news in itself…but wait, there’s more:

(I know, I know…I am well aware that I watch far too many infomercials…hence the reason I am the proud owner of a “Bump It” that I never use!)

Print out this coupon for $30 off of your purchase of $75 or more, or $15 off of your purchase of $30 or more, and you could really get some killer deals. And don’t worry if you’re lazy like me and prefer to do your shopping from behind your monitor. There’s also an online promotion code printed on the certificate.  However, keep in mind that this coupon is not good on clearance or sale merchandise. I learned this the hard way, and it was a heartbreaking revelation.

Here are some examples of the cuteness that I found in the SALE section:

discount dress

Regular price: $69.50, On sale for $40

discount pants

Regular $59.50, On Sale for $30,

discount skirt

Regular $69.50, On Sale for $30

discount shirt

Originally $39.50, On Sale for $19.99

discount purse

Regularly $22.50, On Sale for $9.99

discount shorts

Regular $59.50, On Sale $30

discount shoes

Regularly $24.50, On Sale for $19.60

And here are some great things you could get using the promotion code/printable coupon:

discount skirt

Originally $49.90, $34.90 after promotion

discount dress

Originally $34.50, $20 after discount

discount swimsuits

Originally $49, $34 with $15 off promotion

Also, for those of you wary of shopping online because of sizing issues, Express does offer free exchanges, meaning you don’t have to pay for return shipping, so it’s basically risk free.

Now, I have to end this post and walk away before I buy anything else!

Happy bargain hunting!

Today is a good day.  Why, you ask, is this nondescript, last Tuesday in April so darn good?  Because, I just bought two really cute pairs of shoes and in my book, a good day that does make.  And what’s even better is the price of said shoes; or perhaps I should say the bargain I found…

JCPenney.com is running an online promotion right now:  $10 off of any $10 purchase or more, online only, using the promotion code 4BESTMOM.  I received this information from Pocket Your Dollars, who sent out the information in today’s email newsletter (thank you, Pocket Your Dollars for making my day)!  As I tried to concentrate on the article I was writing, the knowledge of a promotion taking place that I was not a part of began to drive me crazy.  And thus, I wandered over to JCPenney.com to take a look.

I immediately clicked on the shoe link at the top of the page, and stumbled upon shoe gold:

Here’s the best part:  Each pair of the shoes above are on sale for $19.99.  Add the $10 off coupon, and they can be yours for $9.99 + shipping.  You can have them shipped to a local store for $4.50, or you can have them shipped to your home for $5.95.

The $10 coupon can be used on other items, too.  They have many other cute pairs of shoes, like these:

To get a great deal on an adorable pair of shoes, enter the promotion code 4BESTMOM at checkout.  And yes, if you are a mom, feel free to consider this a little Mother’s Day gift to yourself.
